MODAL is a public-private partnership project of the research partners Zuse Institute Berlin (ZIB) and Freie Universität Berlin (FU) with more than 30 industrial partners, funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research within the “Research Campus – Public-Private Partnership for Innovation” funding initiative. The research campus is hosted by ZIB, located at the campus of the FU in Berlin, and conducts research and development of digitale systems for the optimization of data-driven processes in the fields of energy, health, mobility and communication.
The developed data-driven methods make rapid cross-technology development possible and advance innovation processes by digital decision support systems. Present projects aim at the solution of previously unavailable planning and control problems for complex supply and mobility networks or for digital health care.
The Research-Campus is divided into the following six labs:
The research campus MODAL is designed as an open competence network. In addition to a full partnership, which requires membership in the public-private partnership MODAL and requires a five-year contractual commitment, there are also other formats like the associated or network partnerships that can be customized in many details to suit your needs.
All forms of cooperation open up a variety of opportunities to access the excellent competencies of the research campus in solving innovation problems in the digital transformation process.
