The “Mixed Integer Programming Workshop” is an annual event that features recent contributions in the field of MIP. Every year, a comitee honors the best contribution to the poster session with a best poster award.
The work presented by Leon Eifler integrates important techniques such as presolving, primal heuristics, and certification of results into the existing state of the art exact MIP solver SCIP. The computational study shows that this helps in closing a significant part of the gap between exact and finite-precision MIP solvers. The corresponding manuscript by Leon Eifler and Ambros Gleixner has been published at IPCO 2021.
