The Governing Mayor of Berlin visits ZIB

On the occasion of the Long Night of Sciences, the Governing Mayor, Michael Müller, visited the Zuse Institute Berlin on June 24, 2017 to be informed about various projects. In the 3 D-Studio “Da Vinci” Dr. Marcus Weber gave a presentation on a fully computer designed medication, which only works in the inflammatory tissue. This is a project that ZIB is pursuing together with the Charité. Next stop was the research campus MODAL where Prof. Dr. Tim Conrad reported on the MedLab results in the context of personalized medicine research. A tour with Prof. Alexander Reinefeld on the tasks of the high performance computer HLRN III and a presentation on the electronic facial recognition by the ZIB Department of Visualization completed the presentation. At the Long Night of Sciences ZIB offered a varied and colorful program for large and small visitors and set a new visitor record with over 2,000 guests.
